Beneficial Pub Basics
December 19, 2008
There are countless pubs in the world and all of them have varied style and quality. Some of them are a must-see whereas others should not be visited even by mistake. Basically what you call a great pub entirely depends on your taste and temperament.
Broadly the pubs can be classified under a few headings. And knowing about these headings can help you to identify the exact type of pub you are looking for spending some quality time. Some basic categories of pubs include:
Australian Bars: These bars are having a dedicated Antipodeans premise. The place is usually full of Australians and the main food ingredient is grilled meat. This place is not for you if you are looking for authentic beer.
Chain Pubs: Do not fall for the deceptive great décor. Inside you will find a cheap, poor-quality pint along with tolerable food. Do not expect any music as these pubs do not own entertainment license.
Pub/Club: These remain open till late night by enjoying the new licensing laws. Lots of them serve excellent beer and food, but a few of them still offer cheap beer and awful music.
Gastro Club: One of the traditional clubs preserving the trend of quality food cooked by experienced chefs and great beer. This is just the right kind of place if you are looking for some real ale.
Irish Pubs: Majority of Irish clientele and perfect ness can be expected as far as pouring is concerned. Do remember the fact that genuine Irish Bars are only found in Ireland.
Traditional Pub: Beware as most of the pubs describing themselves as “traditional” are cheap fakes. It is very easy to spot a real traditional pub with its famous food and real ale.
Real ale pubs: Indeed a great place for having an excellent pint and often traditional in a variety of aspects.
Just remember that the real things, which matter in a pub, are quality food, friendly atmosphere and good bar staff.
