Discipline- A necessity to revive India

June 20, 2008

“Discipline” refers to a proper training and control of mind and character. It is a necessity to conduct life in accordance with rules and regulations. It can not be obtained without voluntary obedience to some fixed codes of behavior. Discipline may put some checks on your freedom, but a person free to do his will, can create havoc in the world. It is in fact impossible to lead a civilized life, without the check of discipline.

Discipline contributes towards “work and progress” and both the terms will sound meaningless in it’s absence. People usually make the mistake of associating discipline with cut down of freedom whereas discipline is undoubtedly the foundation of all freedom. The charm and value of freedom can not be realized without the discipline.

The deteriorating standards of discipline in our daily lives have already started showing colors. It has given birth to such an immense amount of violence, criminal acts, inefficiencies and corruption. You hardly find anyone taking his or her work seriously. Whatsoever be the field, indiscipline has eaten the roots of honesty; moral values and above all social and national life. Schools and colleges, which were once known as temples of learning have converted into hot beds of indiscipline.

These days, indiscipline has completely defiled the atmosphere. Is this the atmosphere in which we want our children to grow and flourish??? There is a dire necessity to take steps and realize our responsibilities. We can at least do our share of the duty with genuine sincerity by making our life more disciplined. Basically, it has to come from within and once the importance of discipline is realized, the existing world will become more organized and peaceful. So, be a contributing hand to make India a better place to live.

Wake to forge an India sans corruption

June 20, 2008

These days world has turned materialistic, where money has become the be-all and end-all of every individual. Our craving for more and more money does not come to an end. The endless desires of life increase the insatiable lust for the money. Man does not mind getting rich even by foul means.

This lust has given birth to corruption in public life. Things have become so stringent that feeling of compunction has totally vanished among common people. Corruption has in fact become a way of life and is often taken for granted by a vast majority. Corruption well proves the adage “money makes the mare go”.

Isn’t it a matter to laugh that a person apprehended of taking bribes, can go scot-free by giving bribes? Such is the elevation in corruption that the society is moving towards total collapse. There are multiple ways in which corruption flourishes in our country. Within a short span of time, it has risen to a high political level. It has basically taken the form of trade. Hoarding, black-marketing and adulterating things, all are various colors of corruption. Human life is often played with in order to earn huge profits. The saddest part of the whole scenario is that it takes place right under the nose of our efficient official machinery. Higher officials connive with these people and share the booty. What a shame indeed!!!!!!!!!!

There is absolutely no field of life that has remained untouched by this evil of corruption. Trade, industry, commerce, administration, police, courts and the list goes on and on. You just name any department and one thing you are going to find for sure is CORRUPTION.

Where are we Indians leading ourselves to? Modern materialistic values have overwhelmed us to such a degree that we have become oblivious to our old ethics and the faith we had in them. Leave alone the moral values we have even lost faith in ourselves!!!!!!!!

The situation has become really alarming and a mass movement is required to cleanse and alter the infrastructure of our society. We all should wake up to realize that there is a dire need to free our country from poverty, exploitation and corruption.
